An exciting trekking challenge in the middle of Africa and the extinct volcanoes, through nature and wildlife.

This will take you through the vast Savannah at an altitude of over 2000 metres and meet face to face with the real animals at their own habitant like Zebras, Gazelles, and Giraffe not to mention the numerous species of birds.
The safari takes you to the following attractions:- The Extinct Volcanoes, The Great Rift Valley and The Birds and Wildlife

Day 1:
Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport where you will be met and pass through the city and catch the main highway to Nakuru and stop by the View Point to view the Escarpment and the Great Rift Valley. Then descend down to the shores of Lake Naivasha at Fisherman’s Camp. After lunch a warm up walk around the lake, which takes about 3hours and return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2:
Birds in Lake NakuruAfter breakfast trek for 3 kilometres to the entrance of Hell’s Gate National Park. After entering the park, walk another 23 km through typical African Savannah and the volcanic terrain. We will be trekking at an altitude of 2000 metres above sea level on a flat region. The park was mainly established specifically for Game trails and sightings of a vast variety of wild games and bird life. These will no doubt start us off in the right mood far away from the urban frenzy. Afterwards we retire at Ol Dubai campsite within the park for overnight.

Day 3
We will begin the day with a 3.5 km walk to the Hell’s Gate, then enter into a steep canyon with fast running water, geysers and wild vegetation.
Lunch will be at the picnic site located above the gorge. After lunch we will continue through the rocky gorge and plenty of wild bushes before heading back to the Ol Dubai camp for the overnight. This will be about 18 Kilometres walk for the day.

Day 4
The day’s objective will be visiting the Longonot National Park passing through KEDONG Ranch. We will be mainly trekking through Savannah with flat to hilly terrain at an altitude of over 2000 metres above sea level.

The vast expanses around us are indeed very impressive and should give us the feeling of being in the outback, with little to distract us and later proceed to the camp in Longonot National Park which will give us a total of 18-19 kilometres walk for the day.

Day 5
ZebrasA difficult day ahead as we trek and make our way up the extinct volcano Mt Longonot. We will climb some 550 metres from 2220 metres above the sea level to 2770 metres. As we ascend to the rim of the Crater we will undoubtedly pass herds of Zebras Giraffe, Gazelles and other wild animals. We hike along the jagged edge and peer into the volcano. From the Summit there are fantastic views of the Rift Valley and Lake Naivasha. Having taken the breath on these wonderful sights we descend down to the edge of the park for a short one (1) hour transfer to the Malewa River Camp for a rest after the 7 hour grueling trek.

Day 6
Being at the middle of Africa at its natural best sharing the area with multitudes of great vegetation of flowers, trees and also wildlife, we will trek by crossing the shallow Malewa River Gorge with its thick African bush and extra ordinary sounds of animals life and birds all around us. After an hour we will reach our last crater pool before returning back to our campsite for overnight. The whole trekking will take about 12 kilometres.

Day 7
Another exciting tough day as we climb Mt. Malewa ascending from 2200 metres. From the summit you will be able to have a stunning view of Mt. Longonot, Lake Naivasha and the Northern Rift Valley. We return via the Malewa Bridge and catch the main highway for 3 hours drive back to Nairobi for a farewell dinner at your hotel or elsewhere and overnight.

Day 8
This will be a great day to explore the city with optionals to Nairobi National Park, Giraffe Centre, before having lunch at Mamba and Ostrich farm and later visit the Bomas of Kenya. Evening transfer to the airport for departure flight.Bon voyage.
